Duties Of Trustee

The Trustee is the person who oversees the management of the Trust for the benefit of the beneficiaries.  A Successor Trustee’s duties may include termination of the trust and distribution of trust assets to the designated beneficiaries. This includes payment of the decedent’s debts and distribution of Trust assets according to instructions in the Trust.  A Trustee is considered a fiduciary. This means that he or she must observe a high standard of care when dealing with the Trust assets and the beneficiaries.
